Best travel route from Costa Blanca Spain to Tenerife?

We are near Murcia and Alicante airport but neither are international so we have decided to drive to Tenerife ,has anyone any experience of the Cadiz ferry .
How long does it take , where does it dock and how much would a car and 4 people cost.Any info would be great.

Both Spanair and Iberia fly to Tenerife from Alicante, via Madrid.
Spanair are by far the cheapest, with flights from €77.00 & flight times from 4hrs 15mins (total duration).

Alternatively, with their current offers (book by 4th Jan) you could do it cheaper with Ryanair, taking the same route. The only day of the week when there are suitable connecting flights, however, is a Wednesday. Alicante to Madrid – £16.04p, Madrid to Tenerife – £27.34p. Both prices are inclusive of taxes and check-in.
